Mr. Williams’ expertise is patent litigation, particularly in cases involving highly complex technology. He has handled cases involving computer related technology such as microprocessors, memory products, semiconductor manufacturing processes, and disk drives, as well as cases involving other technologies, such as oil field equipment. His practice also includes counseling clients on patent matters, including prosecution, patent acquisition, prelitigation investigations, and general enforcement issues. Mr. Williams has acted in the capacity of Special Master and Special Assistant to United States District Court judges in patent litigations. In particular, Mr. Williams has acted, or is currently acting, in capacities of Special Master or Technical Assistant for several United States District Court judges in the Eastern District of Texas, including Judge Steger, Judge Davis, Judge Ward, Judge Folsom and Judge Clark. Mr. Williams has also acted as Technical Assistant for former United States District Court Judge, and former Fifth Circuit Judge, Robert Parker in an arbitration proceeding.
 
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
Mr. Williams is experienced in all aspects of patent litigation, including litigation strategy, discovery, trial preparation, and trial, particularly in the role of lead trial counsel. In addition, Mr. Williams is experienced in the appeal of patent cases to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, including briefing and oral argument. He has handled cases for clients such as Hewlett-Packard Company, Intel Corporation, Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd., Samsung Electronics, Compaq Computer Corporation, Rockwell, Dow Corning Corporation and Bank of America. Mr. Williams has extensive experience in the International Trade Commission and has managed several patent litigation matters filed in various European and Asian countries.
 
ADMITTED
Mr. Williams is a member of the Texas Bar. He is admitted to practice in several Federal
District courts, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Federal Circuit, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
