Mr. Amerson’s practice is focused on patent and trademark law, including litigation and prosecution. He has handled patent litigation and prosecution matters involving electrical connectors, computer controlled automated assembly lines, semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment, oil field technology, medical devices, disk drives for computers, and mechanical devices. Mr. Amerson has also handled trade secret matters involving telecommunication technology, particularly intelligent networks, for a major telecommunication company. Mr. Amerson handles patent prosecution and litigation matters for a variety of companies. Prior to receiving his law degree, Mr. Amerson worked for six years as a design engineer for Fluor-Daniel. He is experienced in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels, shell-and-tube exchangers, pumps, compressors, and other process equipment used in refineries and petrochemical plants.
 
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
Mr. Amerson is familiar with all aspects of patent litigation including litigation strategy, trial preparation, direct and cross examination of witnesses at trial, and all aspects of discovery. He has handled matters for clients such as Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd., AMP Incorporated, Quantum Corporation, and Tour 18.
 
ADMITTED
Mr. Amerson is a member of the Texas bar, and is admitted to practice in several Texas and California district courts, as well as the Courts of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit and Federal Circuit. He is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
