Mr. John’s practice is devoted to intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution matters involving highly technical and complex technology. He has been involved in litigation and prosecution matters involving several companies, including Intel Corporation, NeoCardiac, Inc., Samsung Electronics Corp., Crystal Semiconductors, and Neutral Posture Ergonomics, Inc. In addition to patent prosecution and patent litigation matters, Mr. John’s practice includes counseling clients on various intellectual property matters.
 
Prior to receiving his law degree, Mr. John worked as a Design and Development Engineer in the Research and Development Department of Input/Output, Inc., a high-tech seismic data acquisition instrument manufacturer. He is experienced in hardware and firmware design and development. Mr. John has extensive design experience using complex semiconductor devices, including microprocessors, field programmable gate arrays, ASIC chips, digital signal processors, A/D & D/A converters, interface devices, and a variety of memory devices. He has also designed and developed Hardware Descriptive Language (HDL) code for data transmission, encoding, and decoding.
 
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
Mr. John has been involved in drafting and prosecuting United States and foreign patent applications for various companies, including Advanced Micro Devices, Air Liquide, Compaq Computer Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Apple Computer Corporation, Micron Electronics, and Flextronics. Mr. John is also experienced in preparing infringement and validity opinions, analyzing prior art and technical data, and handling various aspects of patent litigation.
 
ADMITTED
Mr. John is a member of the Texas Bar and is admitted to practice in various Federal District Courts. Mr. John is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
